Thomas Party agrees mega summer exit as Edu plots Liverpool and Chelsea hijack to complete perfect midfield

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has agreed to join a Saudi Arabian club, according to report in the Middle East.

The Ghanaian has been strongly linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer and Declan Rice’s £105million move from West Ham has accelerated the rumours.

Partey was a key player in Mikel Arteta’s side last season, but the overhaul of the midfield has saw him one of many tipped to end their time in north London.

The future of Partey is set to play a big role in the Gunners’ move to Romeo Lavia. The Southampton star, like Partey, is facing an uncertain future and has been linked with a move to Liverpool and Chelsea.

According to transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri, a ‘epic fight’ is incoming for the Belgian. Lavia is reportedly a ‘main option’ for Arsenal to replace Partey.

The 19-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2022/23 campaign with the Saints, establishing himself as one of Europe’s best holding midfielders. However, his performances could not prevent Southampton dropping to the Championship to leave his future in limbo.

Various reports have suggested that the teenager would cost any suitors close to £50million, despite their relegation. No formal bid has been made yet, but interest has intensified in the following 10 days.

As well as Lavia, football audit understands that the door hasn’t been completely closed on a move for Moises Caicedio. The Gunners were strongly linked with the Brighton star in January, seeing two bids turned down. However, London rivals Chelsea continue to lead the race.

Time will tell who the next signing through the door will be at the Emirates Stadium. The work already completed in the market is arguably the best in England, but Edu and Arteta are showing no signs of resting on their laurels.
